There are many different reasons why people choose to become coaches. Not the least of which is freedom.
Coaching provides a pretty unique lifestyle in that you can run your business with a laptop and internet connection and you can add a phone to that list if you don’t use skype. This gives you the freedom to stay home and work in your PJ’s or travel to the ends of the earth.
Coaching is really the “dream job” for many, but what we quickly find is that it’s not all unicorns and rainbows. Creating your coaching business is hard work and requires a lot of time and effort.
So there has to be another reason that drives you that is deeper than your want of freedom. People are called to coach for many different reasons, here are a few that you may resonate with.
- They have a life changing experience and have a deep need to help others experience the same thing.
- They have a passion that they deeply want to share with other like minded people.
- They have a message that they want to bring to the world and make an impact.
- They fell into it because people ask them to help create the same success they’ve seen the coach create for themselves.
And the list goes on.
The common thread here is passion and a deep need to make an impact. Sometimes this need is so deep and guttural that it’s hard to put words to.
When it’s hard to explain, it’s also hard to make tangible to prospects, and thus hard to sell.
So when you can craft a message that is easy to understand and compels your prospects to want it for themselves as much as you want it for them, that is when you have something viable.
That is when you can start to build a brand and a business that will sustain your dream and allow you to make the impact you crave.
