If someone were to audit your website and marketing materials right now for effectiveness the number one thing they will focus on is whether or not they know who you serve and what you do at a glance.
But what is often overlooked is why you are the best person for the job. Why should I hire YOU over everyone else? What makes you like, sooooo awesome?
Of course your target audience and niche are extremely important to the success of your business, if you don’t have a target audience and it isn’t clear what you are selling to them then you don’t have a business.
But if you don’t have a defining factor as to why your target audience should hire you over everyone else well… you don’t have a brand.
Whether you are a health coach, a business coach, a spiritual coach, or a career coach you’re not alone in your market. There are thousands of other coaches that are offering the same thing as you and are working just as hard to get clients.
Unless you can set yourself apart, you’re going to get lost in the noise.
You’re different than all of those coaches though, you do bring something special to the table. Whether it be personal experience that your audience relates to, a unique skill set that you’ve curated, a super sweet methodology that you’ve crafted, or just the fact that you have a personality that your ideal clients really jive with.
Not to get all “Barney and Friends” on you, but you are special.
When you can identify what it is that makes you unique, then you can build a brand around it.
Then you can:
- Stand out from the crowd.
- Become known in the market for this one thing.
- Get more referrals from people talking about your awesomeness.
And usually, this one specialness about you is something that is innate, natural and at the very least something you’re very passionate about so the more you express it, the more you’re going to enjoy your business.
So if I were to ask you right now, why should I hire you over everyone else.
